This exhibition traces the 20-year career of Tomoko Yamashita—who, since her debut in 2005, has crafted a diverse range of stories from delicate human dramas to heart-pounding comedies—through her original artwork.
In addition to approximately 90 manuscript pages from *Iwakuni Nikki*—which depicts the shared life of a young female novelist and her niece—the exhibition features about 40 manuscript pages from other works, including her latest series, *Tornado*, which began serialization in January 2026.
*Some storyboards and line art will be rotated between the first half (October 10–November 4) and the second half (November 6–November 24).
About Tomoko Yamashita
Tomoko Yamashita is a manga artist born in Tokyo in 1981 who made her debut in 2005 with *The Name of God Is Night*.
She has published works in various media, including BL magazines, youth magazines, and women’s magazines. Her major works include *The Night Outside the Triangle Window* and *Diary of a Different Country*.
A live-action film adaptation of *Diary of a Foreign Country* was released in June 2024, and a TV anime series began airing in January 2026.
