To celebrate the massive success of *Chikawa: The Secret of Mermaid Island*, the first theatrical film based on the manga *Chikawa* by Nagano, the third installment of the “‘It’ll Work Out Somehow!’ Cheer Screening” series will be held on October 30, 2026, at 12 theaters nationwide.
On November 6, the third “Cheer Screening” featuring automatically controlled glow sticks that change color in sync with the characters’ appearances will also be held at 7 theaters nationwide.
・The “Cheer-Along Screening” where audience members can cheer aloud will be held simultaneously at 12 theaters nationwide starting at 7:00 PM on October 30
・The cheering screening featuring automated penlight effects will take place on November 6 at 7:00 PM at 7 theaters nationwide
・Tickets will go on sale at midnight on October 23 via each theater’s website
・Bringing merchandise and attending in cosplay are both allowed

Cheer Screening with Automated Penlight Effects (3rd Session)
This is a cheer screening where audience members are encouraged to cheer aloud, using special penlights that change color in sync with the characters’ actions and appearances, creating a dynamic experience that complements the film. Automatically controlled glow sticks can be purchased in advance online and will also be available for purchase in limited quantities at participating theaters. You can enter the theater even without a glow stick, and you may bring your own commercially available glow sticks or penlights.

“Chiikawa: The Secret of the Mermaid Island” Cheer Screening Guidelines
As this is a special screening where audience participation is encouraged, it is not suitable for those who prefer to watch in silence.
* Keep cheering props at chest height. Do not raise them above shoulder level
* Bringing in flammable items or using items that produce loud noises, such as firecrackers or whistles, is prohibited
* Standing up, jumping, or similar behavior during the screening, or watching the film from the aisles is prohibited
* Cosplay is permitted. Changing clothes inside the theater or at surrounding facilities is prohibited
* Photography, video recording, and audio recording inside the theater are prohibited
* Purchasing tickets for the purpose of resale is prohibited
* Media outlets may be present to cover the event or record footage
