An exhibition tracing the production journey of “We Are Aliens,” the first feature-length animated film from the film label NOTHING NEW, titled “‘We Are Aliens’ Exhibition — The Journey to Completion —, will be held at Shinjuku Marui Annex starting on Friday, September 25, 2026, the film’s opening day.
In addition to a space recreating the production environment at the time, the exhibition will feature original artwork and storyboards actually used in the production!
・The exhibition runs from Friday, September 25, 2026, to Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the Shinjuku Marui Annex 7F Event Space
・Admission is free; doors open at 2:00 PM only on the first day, Friday, September 25
・The exhibition features a recreation of the production studio, as well as original artwork and storyboards actually used in the film
・A total of 13 original, venue-exclusive merchandise items—including T-shirts and tote bags—will be on sale (prices range from 500 yen to 4,500 yen)
Details of the “We Are Aliens” Exhibition — The Journey to Completion —
“We Are Aliens” had its world premiere at the Directors’ Fortnight section of the 79th Cannes International Film Festival and was selected for the Feature Film Competition at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
This exhibition chronologically traces the film’s production journey from the planning stage to its completion, featuring materials from director Kohei Kadowaki and the rest of the production team.
