Starting October 1, 2026, at the Maruzen Kyoto Main Store, original collaboration merchandise will go on sale at 23 Maruzen Junkudo bookstores nationwide. Additionally, at two venues in Kyoto and Tokyo, there will be an exhibition of reproductions of original illustrations, book signings, and a collaboration café.

Details on the “Full Moon Coffee Shop: Star Reading POP UP STORE”
“Star Reading at the Full Moon Coffee Shop” is a popular series set in a trailer café that appears on a whim on full moon nights. To commemorate the release of the new volume, Maruzen Junkudo Bookstore is hosting a special exhibition titled “Star Reading at the Full Moon Coffee Shop POP UP STORE.”
The event will take place at 23 locations nationwide: two main venues—Maruzen Kyoto Main Store and magmabooks (Toranomon, Tokyo)—where exhibitions and book signings will be held, plus 21 additional stores carrying only merchandise. Centered around the sale of original collaboration merchandise, some stores will host exhibitions of reproduction original artwork and panel displays, while the Kyoto venue will also feature a collaboration café and a book signing event.
The merchandise designs were created with the full cooperation of Chihiro Sakurada, the illustrator of the series. The theme is [Book & Café], featuring a lineup of items designed to enhance your reading experience.

From reproductions of original artwork to stationery items such as sticker sets, clear file folders, letter sets, and ballpoint pens, as well as tea spoons, rubber keychains, and mugs—a wide variety of items are available to let you enjoy the world of the series up close!
In addition, there are items designed to be savored, such as coffee drip bags inspired by the world of the Full Moon Coffee Shop and amber sugar that evokes a starry sky. We recommend purchasing the set that includes a teaspoon, a mug, a coffee drip bag, and some amber sugar.

The “Star Reader Postcard Gift Set” combines the cover art from Volumes 1–7 with menu illustrations carefully selected by Chihiro Sakurada. The “Star Reader Welcome Clear File” features a collaboration key visual drawn exclusively for this project.
The “Star Reader Break Time Mug” is designed so you can enjoy the two logos of the Full Moon Coffee Shop on both the front and back, and—intended to be used as a set— “Star Reader Teaspoon,” creating a lineup that embodies the spirit of 【Book&Cafe】. The “Star Reader Blend Bag ‘BLEND TONIGHT'” is a nighttime blend designed by the roaster to be enjoyed during relaxing evenings or before bed; all three package designs contain the same blend.
The reproduction art prints are made entirely to order. Illustrations personally selected by Chihiro Sakurada herself—including menu illustrations, paperback book covers, and key project visuals—are framed in a compact size that’s easy to display in your room.
Two venues in Kyoto and Tokyo hosting the reproduction art and panel exhibitions
In addition to merchandise sales, exhibition events will be held at Maruzen Kyoto Main Store and magmabooks.
Starting October 1, 2026, Maruzen Kyoto Main Store will host a reproduction art exhibition alongside an advance sale of original merchandise. The venue will be the POP UP space on the B1 floor of Kyoto BAL.
At magmabooks (Toranomon, Tokyo), a reproduction original artwork exhibition and illustration panel exhibition will be held from November 6 to November 23, 2026, alongside merchandise sales. The venue is on the 2nd and 3rd floors of Toranomon Hills Glass Rock, with operating hours from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sundays and holidays).
The 21 stores nationwide that carry only merchandise will run the campaign from October 6 to November 8, 2026. Online sales of merchandise will begin at the Maruzen Junkudo Bookstore Online Store at 12:00 PM on October 1, 2026.

Collaboration Café “MARUZEN café Kyoto Branch”
MARUZEN café Kyoto, located inside the Maruzen Kyoto Main Store, is hosting a collaboration café to commemorate the opening of a pop-up store. The event will run from October 1 to November 1, 2026, with operating hours from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM (last order at 7:30 PM).

To celebrate the release of new books and original merchandise, a book signing event featuring authors Mai Mochizuki, Chihiro Sakurada, and Ryo Masaki will be held at two venues in Kyoto and Tokyo.
The Kyoto event will take place on October 11, 2026, in the open space next to the escalator on the B2 level of Maruzen Kyoto Main Store. The Tokyo event will be held on November 15, 2026, in the event space on the 3rd floor of magmabooks. Capacity is limited to the first 100 attendees at each venue.
Reservations for the Kyoto event will be accepted starting at 11:00 a.m. on September 12, 2026, and for the Tokyo event starting at 2:00 p.m. on the same day, both in-store and by phone.
Numbered tickets will be distributed to customers who purchase all three eligible books. The eligible books are *Star Reading at the Full Moon Coffee Shop: A Christmas Carol of the Star Cats*, *Star Reading at the Full Moon Coffee Shop Vol. 1 (Manga Adaptation)”, and *Star Reading at the Full Moon Coffee Shop: Special Edition—Magical Words That Make Life Sparkle*—one copy of each, for a total of three books. On the day of the event, admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis within each reserved session, rather than by reservation number or ticket number. Audio and video recording, as well as photography, are prohibited inside the venue unless expressly permitted by the organizer. Gifts for the authors can be placed in the gift box provided on the day of the event.
