Gintama: Seasonal Flowers and Plants POP-UP SHOP at TSUTAYA—Opening October 2!

The “TSUTAYA POP UP SHOP” for *Gintama*, based on the manga by Hideaki Sorachi, is coming!

Kicking off at the Kyoto IP Bookstore on Friday, October 2, 2026, the shop will open sequentially at a total of four locations, featuring a wide lineup of new merchandise showcasing brand-new illustrations themed around seasonal flowers and plants.

Details on the “Gintama” TSUTAYA POP UP SHOP

The “TSUTAYA POP UP SHOP,” based on the manga “Gintama” by Hideaki Sorachi, will launch at Kyoto IP Bookstore on Friday, October 2, 2026 (Fri) at Kyoto IP Bookstore.

Featuring newly drawn illustrations themed around seasonal flowers and plants, the artwork depicts Gintoki Sakata, Shinpachi Shimura, Kagura, Jūshirō Hijikata, Sōgo Okita, Shinsuke Takasugi, and Kamui dressed in traditional Japanese attire.

At the venue, Kyoto IP Bookstore, the gallery space will be utilized for event decorations and photo spots! In addition to the sale of new merchandise featuring the original illustrations, limited-edition bromides will be distributed with each purchase of eligible items.

This POP UP SHOP begins at the Kyoto IP Bookstore and moves to the IP Bookstore on the 6th floor of SHIBUYA TSUTAYA starting Friday, November 13. After that, it will tour the Fukuoka Tenjin Tsutaya Bookstore IP Bookstore Satellite Store and TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Noritake Shinmachi.

Merchandise Available at the “Gintama” TSUTAYA POP UP SHOP

There are a total of 10 merchandise items featuring newly drawn illustrations. The lineup ranges widely from classic items like acrylic stands and clear file folders to items incorporating traditional Japanese designs, such as folding screen-style autograph cards, motif-printed tea cups, and furoshiki wrapping cloths.

Acrylic Stands (7 designs total)

A set of 7 acrylic stands that let you enjoy three-dimensional views of characters holding flowers and plants is now available! The width varies by character, ranging from approximately 48 to 91 mm, and each comes with a base featuring a water flow design.

Clear File Folders (7 Varieties Total)

The lineup features 7 types of A4-sized clear file folders, each colored in a character’s signature color. The front features a full-body illustration and the character’s name in English, while the back features a circular crop of an illustration and the “GINTAMA” logo.

Trading Goods (7 Types Total)

There are 4 random-selection trading goods. The glitter pin badges feature close-up illustrations with shimmering foil finishes, while the frame magnets come in a framed design! The mini bromides come with a set of strip-style stickers, and the acrylic keychains feature a double-strand design with a character illustration and a motif charm.

Postcard Sets & Japanese-Themed Goods

The postcard set includes individual illustrations of each of the seven characters, as well as a postcard featuring a group illustration of all seven together. The folding screen-style art card features the group illustration on a folding screen-shaped backing, making it perfect for display.

Furthermore, the lineup includes a motif teacup adorned with indigo-colored motifs associated with the characters—such as swords, glasses, and umbrellas—as well as a set of a furoshiki wrapping cloth and a drawstring pouch featuring a combination of traditional Japanese patterns.

For every 2,200 yen (tax included) spent on eligible merchandise, you will receive one randomly selected POP UP SHOP-exclusive bromide (7 varieties total).
