The Power Bagel features a heart shape for a cute look, with its red horns also crafted from bagel dough, and is filled with cream cheese and blueberries. The Chainsaw Devil Bagel is an orange, black, and red colored bagel with a jagged edge; the dough, which has black cocoa powder kneaded into it, is filled with chocolate.

Himmel’s “Devil’s Heart Bread” is a creation that uses black cocoa dough to represent the devil’s body. Inside, it contains a strawberry filling meant to resemble fresh blood and melt-in-your-mouth marshmallows; when you break it open, the red filling spills out.

SONGBIRD BAKERY’s “Bomb” is a round bun dusted with white powdered sugar. Its appearance is inspired by the striking single white flower featured in the series, and it’s generously filled with dark rum-infused chocolate custard and whipped cream.

Chainsaw Bread at 6 Stores Outside Tokyo

Six stores in Kanagawa, Yamanashi, Niigata, Tochigi, Shizuoka, and Ishikawa are also participating. The selection ranges from savory to sweet, featuring breads that highlight local ingredients and each shop’s signature items.

Boulangerie Onni’s Chainsaw Bread features a semi-hard loaf and grilled cheese designed to resemble a saw blade, sandwiched with roast beef and ketchup—ingredients that evoke the image of blood. The “Power Fougasse” is based on the concept of “rough, powerful, and delicious,” featuring a rustic finish with garlic butter spread on it immediately after baking.

Monmaro’s Enchanting Summer Night Bagel features a white chocolate coating and a grape sauce, while the inside is filled with cardamom-scented fromage. The “Dream Gluttony Manul Bread” embodies boldness with orange cheddar cheese and is generously topped with garlic butter, potato salad, and chorizo sausage.

“Boys Be Ambitious” from The Forest Bakery is a kouign-amann inspired by festival apple candy. Almond cream, honey butter, and apples are rolled into a Danish dough, and the surface is finished with a caramel-like glaze. It’s designed to be enjoyed with a squeeze of raspberry sauce from a syringe.

Beck Fan’s Chainsaw Bread is a decadent treat featuring a chainsaw-shaped Danish pastry filled with chocolate, red bean paste, and raspberry jam. The Blood Sausage Dog centers on boudin noir—a sausage made from processed blood—paired with a cacao hot dog bun, potato salad, apple jam, with red chili peppers used to depict the corners.

Hirami Pan’s Spicy Zigzag Melon Pan is made with brioche dough filled with curry and dried tomatoes, then wrapped in a sweet-and-spicy curry-flavored melon crust. The numerous jagged edges represent the blade of a chainsaw.

11 Participating Bakeries for Chainsaw Bread

Eleven bakeries nationwide are participating. Since each store sells only the bread created by its own chef, other varieties are available at different locations.

How to Purchase Chainsaw Bread

There are two ways to purchase. One is to buy directly at the counter of each participating store, and the other is to reserve in advance through “sacri,” a bread reservation and pickup service. Sacri is a 24/7 service that allows you to reserve and have them delivered. Since its official release in October 2020, a cumulative total of 230,000 people have used the service.

Since popular items are expected to sell out, the official recommendation is to make an advance reservation if you want to ensure you get them.
