All five designs—including Chikawa, Hachiware, a rabbit, and a used bookstore—will make their return to Gashapon vending machines nationwide starting in October 2026!

The TV anime “Chiikawa” will air a total of 25 reruns of highly popular episodes from October 2 to December 25, 2026. The first episode to air will be Episode 6, “Friends / Dorayaki,” and starting October 6, the “Nantoka Bania” arc will be broadcast. Starting October 5, a new segment called “Chikawa Chance,” where viewers can win Chikawa merchandise, will begin on the “Mezamashi Janken” segment of “Mezamashi TV,” and the broadcast of new episodes is scheduled to resume in January 2027.

The second “Let’s Make It Happen!” cheer screening for *Chikawa: The Secret of the Mermaid Island* has been confirmed, and the screening where audience members are encouraged to cheer aloud will be held simultaneously across 12 theaters in 8 prefectures nationwide starting at 7:00 PM on October 2, 2026. Cheer screenings featuring automated penlight effects will also be held for three consecutive days from October 16 to 18 at 7 theaters in 5 prefectures.

“Chiikawa” is making an appearance in the cosmetics brand “Pon de Couleur,” and the “Pon de Couleur Chiikawa Multi-Color Powder” will go on sale starting November 23, 2026. This multi-color powder can be used as eyeshadow or face color and comes in a total of six designs featuring cut-out illustrations of the Chikawa characters. The price is 550 yen (tax included).

A pop-up store featuring “Chiikawa”—whose clumsy yet earnest way of life is truly endearing—will be held simultaneously at two venues from Friday, October 2, 2026 (Friday) at two locations—the ELM Hall on the 2nd floor of Aomori ELM and a special venue next to the food court on the 2nd floor of Aeon Mall Saga Yamato—and will run simultaneously until Monday, October 19!
The lineup includes Halloween-themed “Let’s All Dress Up Mascots (8 varieties)” and “Chiikawa Sushi / Chiikawa Baby Bonbon Drop Stickers,” and customers who make a purchase will receive an original sticker and a POP UP STORE-exclusive shopping bag as a gift.

Kodansha’s “Chiikawa: What Will Come Out? Sticker Collection” will go on sale sequentially at bookstores nationwide starting September 28, 2026. The collection features a total of nine designs—including eight characters such as Chiikawa and Hachiware, plus a secret character—and will be sold as individual sheets priced at 660 yen (tax included) each.

The “Chiikawa Bakery OKINAWA POP-UP SHOP” will be held from October 1 to October 12, 2026, at the event space on the 6th floor of the Ryubo Department Store in Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture!
This will be the first pop-up shop of its kind in Okinawa, featuring bread loaves inspired by Chikawa, Hachiware, and the rabbit, as well as the Okinawa-exclusive “Chikawa Bread (Brown Sugar)” and original bakery merchandise, including mascots modeled after the staff.

A collaboration collection between the anime “Chikawa” and the children’s clothing brand “apres les cours” will go on sale starting September 18, 2026. In addition to sweatshirts with sagara embroidery and waffle-weave sets, the lineup will also feature matching face socks for parents and children, featuring the same patterns as the adult versions.

Collaboration items featuring the popular character “Chiikawa” and GU are scheduled to go on sale in two separate releases: Friday, November 20, 2026, and Friday, November 27, 2026. Under the theme “Let’s have fun even on cold, snowy days!”, the first release will feature knitwear and other outfits for going out, while the second release will feature loungewear!

A pop-up store for “Magical Chikawa,” the magical girl series based on “Chikawa,” will be held at Event Space 2 on the 2nd floor of Granduo Tachikawa from Wednesday, September 30, 2026, through Sunday, November 8!
The lineup includes four new “Magical Chikawa Socks” designs and the “Magical Chikawa GPSBOX Statue Figure Collection” (6 varieties total). When you purchase a box of figures, you’re guaranteed to receive all six varieties.

The “Chiikawa Mini Collectible Book Keychain (1)” will go on sale in stages starting in mid-September 2026. These capsule toys cost 500 yen each and feature a lineup of all four characters—Chiikawa, Hachiware, Kurimanju, and Shisa. Each design has 12 pages and a total of 24 pockets for storing ID photos and stickers.

It has been announced that Chikawa Kuji’s new product, the “Shisa-Filled Lottery,” will be held in October 2026. The release date, price, and lineup have not yet been announced, and further details are scheduled to be revealed in October.

The fifth installment of the theater giveaway for *The Chikawa Movie: The Secret of Mermaid Island*—the “Secret Book”—will be distributed in limited quantities starting Saturday, September 19, 2026. This deluxe 52-page booklet features an original essay manga by Nagano titled “Muchauma Diary” and a bonus manga at the end of the book titled “Ode and the Island”!
