Winners of the “Next Big Manga Awards 2026” Comics Category
1st Place

Samwan Hearts / Eiji Yamano / 51,868 points / The Frequency That Connects You to Someone. A Youthful Radio Romantic Comedy
2nd Place Two on the Bus / Sakane Toyobayashi / 37,882 points / Other A “not-quite-love” comedy that begins on a bus with the girl who went to a different school.
3rd Place Resista! / Fujimaru / 22,621 points / A “returnable” story of a youth nearly thrown away, told from across the register counter

First-place winner Yamano Ei expressed her joy, saying, “I’m so happy! Thank you so much!!” She added, “It’s been five years since I first thought, ‘I want to draw a manga about radio!’ and with all the support I’ve received, I never imagined the day would come when I’d receive an award like this… Honestly, I’d love to visit each and every one of you who supported me to say thank you in person, but since that seems a bit difficult, I’d like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude. I hope you’ll continue to warmly follow Kurage and Mimei’s Radio Days!”

Second-place winner Sakane Toyobayashi wrote, “To everyone who voted, thank you so much! I came in second! Yay!” and added, “Thanks to everyone involved—from the editorial department and my assistants to everyone else—I’ve been able to produce work I’m satisfied with every week. That’s truly amazing. I’m so grateful. It excites me to think that ‘The Next One’ might be the catalyst for even more people to discover my work. I’ll continue to give it my all moving forward, so please stick with me!”

Mr. Fujimaru, who took third place, said, “Thank you very much for your votes. To be honest, I never imagined that *Resista!*, which is a rather low-key manga, would be honored with an award like this, so it still feels a bit like it’s happening to someone else.” He continued, “I imagine that everyone who voted must have felt some kind of connection with the story. When I think of that, my pen will naturally flow. I would be truly grateful if you’d continue to support the series and take your time watching over Hanada and the others’ journey.”
