Profile of Director Yoshiyuki Tomino
Director Yoshiyuki Tomino is an animation film director born in Odawara City in 1941.
After graduating from the Department of Film in the College of Arts at Nihon University, he joined Mushi Production. Following his work as an animator on the TV anime *Astro Boy*, he went on to direct *Triton of the Sea*, *Invincible Superhuman Zambot 3*, *Mobile Suit Gundam*, *Legendary Giant Ideon*, and *G’s Reconquista*, among others.
He was appointed as an Odawara Hometown Ambassador in 2021 and signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with Odawara City in April 2024.
