“Magic Knight Rayearth” Original Manga Volume Cover Reprint Fair to Be Held Successively at 3 Bookstores!

To commemorate the TV anime broadcast of “Magic Knight Rayearth” by the creative group CLAMP, the covers of the early tankōbon volumes published in the 1990s are being reissued as full-length obi for a limited time!

In conjunction with this, special purchase promotions for eligible items will be held sequentially at three bookstores: Animate, Kinokuniya, and Maruzen Junkudo.

The types of bonuses and eligible items vary by bookstore, and some stores may exclude certain volumes from the promotion.

Magical Knight Rayearth Anime Broadcast Commemoration: Bookstore Bonus Campaign Details

Starting with “CLAMP PREMIUM COLLECTION Magic Knight Rayearth” (Vol. 1 and Vol. 2), a limited-time version will be released featuring the covers of the original tankōbon volumes published in the 1990s, resized from A5 to B6 format and reproduced as full obi strips.

Each volume includes a postcard featuring the original tankōbon cover illustration, as well as a color frontispiece!

Additionally, three different bookstore chains are offering unique purchase bonuses.

About the Reprint of the Original Volume Covers

This applies to all 6 volumes of the “CLAMP PREMIUM COLLECTION Magical Knight Rayearth” series, including both the standard edition and Volume 2.

The digital versions will also feature the original tankobon cover designs for a limited time; they will revert to the standard covers after the TV anime series concludes, but images of the original tankobon covers purchased during this period will be included in the text.

When does the promotion start?

Following the arrival and rollout of the reprint from Maruzen Junkudo Bookstore on September 16, 2026 (Wed) onward, following the arrival and display of reprinted copies; Kinokuniya Bookstore will run the campaign from October 1 (Thu) through October 31 (Sat); and Animate will run it from October 7 (Wed) through November 22 (Sun).

Which books do I need to buy to receive the bonus items?

Volumes 1–3 of “CLAMP PREMIUM COLLECTION Magic Knight Rayearth,” Volumes 1–3 of “CLAMP PREMIUM COLLECTION Magic Knight Rayearth 2,” “Reprint Edition: Magic Knight Rayearth Art Book” and “Reprint Edition: Magic Knight Rayearth 2 Art Book” are eligible. However, at Maruzen Junkudo Bookstores, the three-volume set of Rayearth 2 does not include a bonus item.

Can I choose the design of the bonus item?

Since Animate’s bonus items are determined by the number of volumes purchased, you cannot choose them. At Kinokuniya and Maruzen Junkudo Bookstores, the bonus art is also predetermined for each eligible volume, and all bonus art is included with the art books.

What are the reprints of the early tankōbon covers?

This is a limited-time version of “CLAMP PREMIUM COLLECTION Magic Knight Rayearth” (Vol. 1 and 2) in which the covers of the original tankobon published in the 1990s have been resized from A5 to B6 and reproduced as full obi. Each volume includes a postcard featuring the illustration from the original tankōbon cover, as well as color frontispieces.

Will the digital edition also feature the original covers?

The digital edition will also feature the original tankōbon cover design for a limited time. After the TV anime series ends, the covers will revert to the standard design, but images of the original tankōbon covers purchased during the promotion period will be included within the text of the digital edition.
