Detective Pretty Cure! × Ojamajo Doremi Collaboration Episode Details
The premise is that even in Makoto Mirai City in 1999—where the protagonist, Anna Akechi, has traveled back in time—”Ojamajo Doremi” is airing and is hugely popular, leading to a one-time special collaboration in Episode 39.
It’s a Halloween episode where the Pretty Cure: Great Detectives dress up as witch apprentices!
Synopsis of Episode 39: “Ojamajo Halloween♪”
Thanks to Anna’s suggestion, the shopping district is hosting its first-ever Halloween event. While helping out, Anna and her friends meet Hinano, a young girl who got separated from her mother.
As they walk Hinano home, Ageseune—disguised as a witch—appears and steals Hinano’s precious broom, which houses the Makoto Jewel.
Deducing that Ageseune must have changed her disguise while fleeing, Anna and the others put on different disguises themselves to chase after her without being noticed.
*Episode 39 will air on BSS San’in Broadcasting on Sunday, November 1.

Detective PreCure! × Ojamajo Doremi: Producer Comments
We’ve received comments from Soya Aramaki, producer of “Detective PreCure!”, and Hiromi Seki, producer of “Ojamajo Doremi.”
“Detective PreCure!” Producer Soya Aramaki
I’m absolutely thrilled that we were able to make this collaboration with “Ojamajo Doremi”—a true veteran of Sunday morning anime—a reality! Since this is a collaboration between two anime series with distinct worldviews, it was quite a challenging endeavor, but we structured the collaboration around the year 1999—a defining feature of *Detective PreCure!*—by presenting it as an episode of the TV anime *Ojamajo Doremi* that was airing at that time.
Since we’re working with TV anime characters, Doremi-chan herself can’t actually appear, but please enjoy the special storytelling that turns that very fact to our advantage!
Also, for this collaboration, we asked Ms. Umakoshi—who is in charge of character design for “Ojamajo Doremi”—to create the collaboration artwork. Believe it or not, there are two different expressions for Answer! It’s a wonderful illustration that sparks all sorts of imagination based on the two characters’ expressions! We’re using different versions depending on the storyline, so be sure to keep an eye out for that as well!
Hiromi Seki, Producer of “Ojamajo Doremi”
When I heard the rumor that they were planning to create a new Pretty Cure series set in 1999… I, as the producer of “Doremi,” thought, “Ah, that’s a special year!” Sure enough, Mr. Aramaki, the producer of “Tanpuri,” was part of the generation that grew up watching “Doremi.”
There’s a proverb that says, “You cross shallow waters by being taught by a child you’re carrying,” but working with staff members much, much younger than me was more interesting than I could have imagined—it was a joyful time that brought back all sorts of memories. As we discussed the key points of *Doremi*, exchanged script ideas with Mr. Narita for the first time in ages, and checked the storyboards created by the two of them, I couldn’t help but tear up seeing how the skills of directors Sato, Igarashi, Yamauchi, and Nagamine had been faithfully passed down.
Above all, I was grateful for the “chic” touch of having two directors named Hana-chan and Hazuki-chan handle the storyboards. Back in 1999, they must have been very young, but seeing them work like true professionals now, I’m really looking forward to what they’ll do in the future.
