To commemorate the live-action drama adaptation of the popular BL manga “Kiss After the Investigation,” originally created by Suu-sensei, the “Drama & Original Work Pop-Up Store at Manga Exhibition” is now open!

The event will be held at Manga-ten Shibuya starting Thursday, August 27, 2026, and at Manga-ten Tennoji starting Tuesday, September 15, 2026. In addition to displays of standee panels, stills from the drama, and costumes and props from the series, original pop-up merchandise will also be on sale.

To commemorate the live-action drama adaptation of Suu’s popular BL manga “Kiss After the Investigation,” the “Drama & Original Work Pop-Up Store at Manga-ten” has been announced! The event will take place at two venues, starting at Manga-ten Shibuya and then moving to Manga-ten Tennoji.

The event will feature displays of drama standee panels and stills from the show, as well as sales of original pop-up merchandise.

Synopsis of the drama “Kiss After the Investigation”

Hide Watanabe plays Heisuke Takoi, a good-natured, compassionate, and naturally charismatic detective deeply loved by local residents, while Riyu Saito plays Shu Shiono, a brilliant, high-achieving, and stubbornly obsessive young elite police officer with a tsundere personality.

While Takoi is adored by the local community, Shiono—an elite police officer working in the Community Safety Division—is his arch-nemesis, constantly making snide remarks. Shiono grows increasingly annoyed and frustrated by Takoi’s ability to charm everyone with his kindness. One day, when Takoi asks, “Why are you always picking on me?” Shiono coolly provokes him with, “Why do you think?”—and a major incident ensues.

This series depicts a non-stop romantic comedy starring these two people with the worst possible chemistry.

Takoi, a detective in the Criminal Investigation Division of the peaceful, rural Yamano-michi Police Station, is a single, compassionate detective in his late 30s (non-career officer) beloved by locals of all ages. He’s at odds with Shiono, a handsome young junior officer (semi-career) in the Community Safety Division. Not only does Shiono pick fights with him for no reason day in and day out, but they’re also neighbors in the police dorm—a living hell… or so it seemed. However, when a matchmaking proposal comes up for Takoi, his relationship with Shiono undergoes a dramatic change.
