Synopsis of the Spin-off Novel “Your Name. Another Side: Earthbound”

It’s been 10 years since the release of *Your Name.*. A spin-off novel that delves deeper into the story!

Taki Tachibana, a high school boy living in Tokyo, begins swapping bodies with Mitsuha Miya, a high school girl from a rural town, after having a dream.
Though initially bewildered by the unfamiliar female body and the unfamiliar rural lifestyle, Taki gradually adjusts.
Just as Taki begins to want to know more about Mitsuha—the true owner of this body—those around her, noticing that she’s acting differently than usual, also start to wonder about her—.
Taki, who has swapped bodies with Mitsuha; Katsuhiko Teshigahara, Mitsuha’s classmate; Yotsuha, Mitsuha’s younger sister who senses something off about her suspiciously acting older sister; and Taki’s father, Toshiki, who left home after his mother’s death.

Mitsuha, a high school girl living in a rural town deep in the mountains, was spending her days in a state of gloom.
Her father’s election campaign—he is the town mayor—and the ancient customs of her family’s shrine.
Living in a small, tight-knit town, and at an age where she’s particularly self-conscious about what others think, her longing for the city only grows stronger.
“Please let me be a handsome guy in Tokyo in my next life—!!!”
Then one day, she has a dream in which she becomes a boy.
An unfamiliar room, strangers she calls friends—and the streets of Tokyo spread out before her.
Though bewildered, Mitsuha throws herself into the city life she’d always longed for.

Meanwhile, Taki, a high school boy living in Tokyo, also had a strange dream.
In a remote mountain town he’d never visited, he found himself as a high school girl.
The mysterious dreams kept recurring.
