The “Hidan & Kakuzu Arc” is an episode in which Hidan and Kakuzu—the immortal duo from “Akatsuki”—close in on Konoha, drastically altering the fate of Team 10, led by Shikamaru.

After a fierce battle with Hidan, Team 10’s leader, Asuma Sarutobi, loses his life. Carrying his mentor’s spirit in his heart, Shikamaru and his teammates set out to avenge him, cornering the immortal Hidan through Shikamaru’s signature Shadow Imitation Jutsu and a meticulously planned strategy. Then, in the battle against Kakuzu, Naruto unleashes his new technique—the “Wind Dōn: Spiral Shuriken,” which he perfected through training, explodes onto the scene. Still beloved today as one of the series’ finest episodes, it touches the heart with Shikamaru’s growth and the “will” he inherited from Asuma.
