A special pop-up shop titled “~A Picture Scroll on the Go Board~” is opening to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the TV anime adaptation of *Hikaru no Go* by Yumi Hotta and Ken Obata!
From October 17 to November 1, 2026, the 5th floor of Animate Ikebukuro Main Store will host an exhibition and pre-release sale of event merchandise featuring newly drawn illustrations of Hikaru and the others in traditional Japanese attire.

Details on the “Hikaru no Go 25th Anniversary Exclusive Shop ~Picture Scroll on the Go Board~”
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the TV anime “Hikaru no Go,” Studio Pierrot Store will host a pop-up shop titled “~A Picture Scroll on the Go Board~” from October 17 to November 1, 2026, in the pop-up shop space on the 5th floor of Animate Ikebukuro Main Store.
Featuring 11 newly drawn anniversary illustrations of Hikaru and his friends dressed in luxurious traditional Japanese attire befitting the occasion, the event will offer exclusive merchandise available only at the shop and host a special exhibition. Additionally, the online store “Studio Pierrot Store” will hold a “Picture Scroll on the Board Fair” featuring related merchandise.
Business hours are 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM on weekdays, and 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on weekends and holidays. Additionally, three stores—Animate Osaka Nipponbashi, Animate Nagoya, and Animate Fukuoka Parco—will serve as supporting stores, featuring products in a dedicated section of their sales floor, and will distribute purchase bonuses just like the exclusive shop.
Lineup of Event-Exclusive Merchandise
The merchandise lineup features a total of five items: trading cards, acrylic stands, and “Kuikui” figures, all featuring newly drawn anniversary illustrations of the characters in traditional Japanese attire!
Trading Goods
The trading goods lineup features three items: a visual art collection, an acrylic block keychain collection, and a pin badge collection. Each features a total of 12 designs, including individual illustrations of Hikaru and the other 10 characters, as well as a design featuring Hikaru Shindo and Sai Fujiwara together.

Acrylic Stands & Kuikui
The acrylic stands feature all 11 characters: Hikaru Shindo, Sai Fujiwara, Akira Taya, Kimihiro Tsutsui, Tetsuo Kaga, Yuki Mitani, Yoshitaka Watanabe, Shinichiro Isumi, Kiyoharu Yashiro, Seiji Ogata, and Yukihiro Taya. The “Kui-Kui” series features 3 types: Hikaru Shindo, Sai Fujiwara, and Akira Taya!
Purchase Limits
Purchase limits will be enforced for new merchandise at Animate’s Ikebukuro Main Store, Osaka Nipponbashi, Nagoya, and Fukuoka Parco locations. For individual items, purchases are limited to 3 of each item per transaction; for trading merchandise, purchases are limited to 3 boxes per transaction.
For individual purchases of trading items, the limit is 18 items for the Visual Art Collection, and 36 items each for the Acrylic Block Keychain Collection and the Pin Badge Collection. Purchase limits are subject to change or removal without notice depending on circumstances, so please check the official website before visiting the store.
Animate Purchase Bonus: “Washi-Style Coaster”
During the event period, for every 2,200 yen (tax included) spent on merchandise available at the venue, you will receive one washi-style coaster (12 varieties total). You cannot select a specific coaster, and exchanges are not accepted. Purchases made at participating stores are also eligible for this offer.
Studio Pierrot Store “Board Game Picture Scroll Fair”
The online store “Studio Pierrot Store” is holding the “Board Game Picture Scroll Fair” from October 17 to November 1. During the event, for every pre-order or purchase of eligible products from the TV anime “Hikaru no Go” totaling 3,300 yen (tax included) or more, customers will receive one random postcard (out of a total of 12 designs).
The designs of these postcards differ from the purchase bonuses offered by Animate. This promotion will end once supplies run out, even during the event period.
Event-exclusive merchandise is scheduled to go on sale at the Studio Pierrot Store at a later date. For online orders, collection items will only be available as box sets.
