This fireworks display was originally scheduled for July 25 but was canceled due to inclement weather. A rescheduled launch has now been confirmed, and the event will take place as part of “Yokohama Night Flowers,” which illuminates the night sky over Yokohama.

The fireworks will be launched for 5 minutes, from 7:00 PM to 7:05 PM. This is a one-day-only collaborative fireworks display, specially sponsored by Matsumoto Kiyoshi Co., Ltd. and Cocokara Fine.

Chikawa “Collaboration Fireworks” Date, Time, and Location

The collaboration fireworks will be launched from 7:00 PM to 7:05 PM on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Shinko Pier.
Shinko Pier is located adjacent to the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse and Yokohama Hammerhead, making it a prime spot to enjoy the fireworks alongside the Minato Mirai night view. Viewing is free, and no special viewing areas or tickets are available.

Held as part of the “Chiikawa: The Movie in Yokohama” collaboration

This collaborative fireworks display is being held as part of the “Chiikawa: The Secret of the Mermaid Island” in Yokohama City collaboration project.
This collaboration took place from Friday, July 24, 2026, through Sunday, August 2 (Sun), featuring three initiatives: a giveaway campaign for original stickers, photo spots throughout the city, and special collaborative fireworks. The fireworks to be launched this time are a rescheduled event originally planned for July 25.
Please note that since the sticker giveaway and photo spots have already ended on August 2, only the fireworks display will take place on September 5.

What Are the “Yokohama Night Flowers,” Where the Chikawa “Collaboration Fireworks” Will Be Launched?

“Yokohama Night Flowers” is an initiative by the City of Yokohama to launch a 5-minute fireworks display into the night sky over Yokohama.
In fiscal year 2026, the event will feature approximately 30 launch days—the highest number to date and the largest scale in the Greater Tokyo Area—aiming to build momentum and excitement for “GREEN×EXPO 2027 (2027 International Horticultural Exposition),” which will be held in 2027. This initiative allows visitors to enjoy Yokohama’s events and sightseeing during the day, and in the evening, to experience dinner or sightseeing cruises while watching fireworks, along with the night views from waterfront attractions.
Yokohama has been designated as one of “Japan’s New Three Cities with the Best Night Views,” and the ability to enjoy its beautiful night views alongside fireworks is a major attraction.

Important Notes for Viewing the Chikawa “Collaboration Fireworks”

There are a few points to keep in mind when attending the fireworks.
First, the event may be canceled depending on the weather conditions on the day, such as rain. For the 7:00 PM show, announcements regarding whether the fireworks will proceed are scheduled to be posted on the official website at 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM (posting times are subject to change depending on weather conditions, etc.).
Additionally, during the fireworks display, “firework debris” may fall depending on wind direction. Since traffic congestion is expected on surrounding roads—including parking lots—during the fireworks display, using public transportation is recommended.
