A set of 48 “Special Hanafuda” cards featuring original designs from My Hero Academia will go on sale in October!

Based on the wildly popular manga by Kohei Horikoshi—which has sold over 100 million copies worldwide—the TV anime *My Hero Academia* (HiroAka) will release the “ Special Edition Hanafuda ” in October 2026.

From “Charaditional Toy,” an original brand developed by Tokio Getz based on the concept of “Characters × Japanese Tradition,” comes a set of “Hanafuda” featuring 48 original designs of popular My Hero Academia characters!

The price is 5,500 yen (tax included). Pre-orders are being accepted through the collaboration café’s online store, “Anime Store.JP (アニメストア.JP” until September 16, 2026.

My Hero Academia × Characteritional Toy “Special Hanafuda” New Merchandise Lineup

Starting September 18, 2026, at Fuji-Q Highland, limited-edition goods featuring original illustrations of Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, Shoto Todoroki, Eijiro Kirishima, Denki Kaminari, Hotta Norita, and more. New merchandise is now available from “My Hero Academia” in conjunction with this event.

From Characteritional Toy—a brand built on the concept of “Characters × Japanese Tradition”—the characters from “My Hero Academia” make their debut as hanafuda cards!

This product features a high-quality back-gluing finish by Oishi Tengudō, a long-established shop in Kyoto founded in Kansei 12 (1800).
The exquisite “curvature” visible on each card is a testament to the traditional technique passed down since the Edo period, achieved by carefully applying adhesive with a brush.
Enjoy these hanafuda cards (48 cards total) with their original designs, featuring a texture and feel that sets them apart from “cut-edge” products.
Additionally, the hanafuda cards come in an original wooden box.
While it serves as a hanafuda case, it can also be used as a business card holder, a small item organizer, or for various other purposes depending on your creativity.

・The slight “warping” visible on the hanafuda cards is a natural result of the traditional gluing process.
